What should I do if I suspect my drive is failed?
Shut down the computer to avoid further damage to the drive and its data. DO NOT Run
data recovery software on the drive. Data recovery software may finish destroying your
data as over 52% of hard drives have a physical failure which software cannot repair. The
longer you run a crashed drive, the greater the chance of losing your data. It must be
evaluated properly by an experienced data recovery technician in order to prevent
permanent data loss.
Will I hear Clicks or Ticks if My Hard Drive is Failing:
Not always. You cannot always hear when there is physical damage occurring to a hard
drive. With the newer quieter slim-line drives and acoustical management of many
computer cases, it is not always possible to hear clicks or ticks.
How much is the recovery going to cost?
The cost of data recovery services vary depending on which level of service is chosen and
also how complex the data recovery becomes. A qualified technician will provide a free
consultation, recoverable files list, and cost estimate before any charges are incurred.
How Do you Determine Pricing?
Pricing is determined by the type of data storage device, the amount of data to be
retrieved, and drive configuration such as RAID arrays. It is also determined based on level
of recovery. A standard recovery on hard drives is for hard drives which do not require clean
room access and repair, Advanced recoveries are those which require the clean room ,
parts and physical repair of drive to achieve data retrieval.
I Want Someone Local, Can I trust my Local Computer Store?
Data Recovery Requires Special Equipment, training and most of all experience. Regular
computer repair shops do not have the necessary equipment or the expertise to retrieve
data from a failed drive or media. True dedicated data recovery facilities are sparse across
the nation. Even some large cities do not have one locally. You will have to find one and
most likely ship your drive to the proper facility. TR LOGIC has recovered data from all over
the United States. Typical turn around is 2-3 days.
What Kinds of Storage Devices Can be Recovered?
All Types, and all Operating Systems, Hard Drives, DVD's, CD's, Thumb Drives, Camera and
Cell phones as well as ZIP, JAZZ and Floppy Drives can all be recovered.
What is your success rate?
Don't be fooled by exaggerated claims of a 100% success rate. Data recovery can be a
complicated process with inherent physical and logical limitations that determine what can
actually be done. TR LOGIC has the highest success rates in the industry,
Does TR LOGIC Out source recoveries?
NO! All work is performed in our laboratory, by our technicians. Your data and information is
never sent to a third party. We are not a service brokerage firm. Not all companies claiming
to offer data recovery really do it. It is always good to ask if their location has a clean room
and the tools to do the recovery in-house. You don't want your valuable data traveling
around any more than it has to. This just increases the chance of further damage or being
lost during shipment. TR LOGIC does not out source recoveries. All work is done in house
by our engineers.
Will I be contacted before any major work is done?
A TR LOGIC Data Recovery Technician will contact you upon receipt of the drive and its
evaluation. All further steps and costs is in the control of the customer.
How my data be returned to me?
Your Data will be returned to you in any format or media you choose.
